Urmston Mens Club & Institute was founded in 1922 in Morris Hall, Atkinson Road, where local workers came together, formed a committee and acquired the land for what is now UMCI. It was formed for these men to have somewhere to meet and hopefully a little bit of relaxation time after what we could only imagine was a daily grind in those days. Today we have 900 members who proudly patronize this club and make it a solid member of the Urmston hospitality sector.

The club has a large lounge and vault and a very spacious function room with a large stage, which can be hired out.

We have 3 bowling teams as well as 2 snooker teams and a pool team all of which members are welcome to join. There are large flat screen TV’s in the lounge and vault as well as projector screens in the function room for all of our sports fans, or if sport isn’t your thing then check out our varied entertainments programme.
